Instructions for burning incense resin
Supplies
- Charcoal incense holder
- Incense coals
- Frankincense resin
- Matches or lighter
- Pliers (optional)
- Sand or salt (optional)
Step 1: Preparation
- Location: place the incense burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface, such as a metal tray or ceramic plate. Make sure the area is well ventilated.
- Fill the burner (optional): you can add sand or salt to the bottom of the incense burner. This helps dissipate the heat and collect the ash.
Step 2: Lighting the incense coals
- Place the incense charcoal: place the charcoal tablet on the grate, in the middle of the incense bowl
- Light the incense charcoal: Light the edge of the charcoal tablet with a match or lighter. When ignited, the coal starts to spark and glow, but there is no flame. When the surface of the coal turns gray, it is ready to use. This may take a few minutes.
Step 3: Setting the Incense Resin
- Add resin: when the charcoal tablet is evenly lit and settled, you can add a small amount of incense resin on top of the tablet. You can use tongs or a spoon to do this.
Step 4: Enjoy the fragrance
- Enjoy the smell: the resin starts to melt and releases fragrant smoke that fills the room with a pleasant aroma.
- Monitor the burning: make sure the incense tray is always supervised during the burning. Never leave burning incense unattended.
Step 5: Termination of use
- Allow to cool: after the resin has burned off, allow the charcoal tablet to cool completely before disposing of it.
- Remove the ash: once the charcoal tablet and ash have cooled, you can remove them from the incense tray and dispose of them safely.
Safety tips
- Use a heat-resistant base: Always place the incense burner on a heat-resistant surface.
- Avoid flammable materials: Make sure the burner is away from flammable materials.
