Fragrance oil and onyx - Hades

The product package combines the power of stones and the symbolism of fragrant oil. This symbolizes the harmonious unification of various elements, forces and meanings that took place in the Ascendo stage. Combine fragrance oil and stones in a ritual container.

In Greek mythology, Hades was the god of the dead and the king of underworld. The kingdom he ruled was located deep in the bowels of the earth. Five rivers flowed through the region; Acheron, Phlegethon, Kokytos, Lethe and Styks. The Styks was a border river, over which the ferryman (Kharon) rowed the souls of the departed in his old decayed boat. According to the myth, the dead had to pay Charon an obol, so the Greeks used to put a gold coin in the mouth of the dead. Hades' trusted companion, the three-headed watchdog Kerberos, guarded the great gates of the underworld, making sure that the dead did not escape and that the living did not enter the gates. In Greek mythology, Hades was not so much seen as evil, but as a dark, harsh and just god. Hades was the wealthiest of the gods because he owned all the precious metals and riches hidden in the earth.

Symbol meaning

The dark and intense Hades package contains onyx stones and one optional fragrance oil:

  • Onyx is said to be a stone of strength, offering support in difficult situations and times of mental or physical stress. Onyx helps focus your energy and connect it to a higher power, allowing for higher direction and connection with the universe. It is thought to help in envisioning future prospects and to give personal strength to control one's own destiny. This stone promotes vitality, commitment and endurance. Psychologically, onyx is thought to help identify and integrate the dualities within oneself. Onyks is like a mental stimulant that helps relieve overwhelming fears and worries. Onyx is a mysterious stone that helps you maintain your own wisdom.
Fragrance oil options:
  • Juniper (Juniperus communis) : Juniper has been used as a herb for thousands of years. The Ebers Papyrus of the ancient Egyptians as well as a work on medicinal plants written by the Yellow Emperor of China, Huang-di, mention the important effects of juniper berries. In addition, juniper berries were believed to protect against evil spirits, ghosts and wild animal attacks, and they were used to be carried around like an amulet. Juniper berries have also been used for spiritual cleansing and ritual baths.
  • Bay leaf (Pimenta Racemosa) : Bay leaf has had many symbolic meanings in different cultures and eras. In ancient Rome and Greece, it symbolized victory, honor and success. Laurel was the sacred tree of the god Apollo, because Peneios, the father of Daphne, whom Apollo loved, did not approve of Apollo's relationship with his daughter, but turned Daphne into a laurel tree. Apollo was the god of knowledge, poetry and music, so the laurel is symbolically related to these as well. Because the laurel keeps its leaves all year round, it is associated with durability and eternity. It also symbolizes peace and reconciliation. For the ancient Romans, the death of a laurel tree growing in the yard predicted a great misfortune for the house, so the trees were grown with care. Early Christians used to place the deceased to rest on laurel leaves before burial.
  • Palmarosa (Cymbopogon Martinii) : represents calmness, expression of love, clarity and creativity. It can support spiritual growth, purification and spiritual connection. It can help clarify thoughts and promote awareness. It is a suitable choice for those who are looking for balance and inspiration in their lives.

Ritual use

Here is a simple instruction, but you can also create your own ritual:

  • Prepare the stones: clean the stones under running water and, if desired, also with incense smoke. Cleansing helps to remove previous energies.
  • To add the oil: put a few drops of the fragrance oil of your choice into a small bowl or ritual vessel.
  • Working with stones: take the stones in your hand and focus on why you are using these particular stones and fragrance oil. Think in your mind or say your intention out loud. Focus on the thought until you feel the feeling rising up in you.
  • Applying the oil: roll the stones in scented oil (note, scented oils are strong, so use a ritual spoon or other aid when rolling).
  • Download: Imagine how the fragrance oil merges with the energy of the stones. At the same time, focus on the union of two different elements and how it symbolizes your own development and achieved integration.
  • How to use: leave the stones in a ritual container to scent the altar or a place of your choice, giving the stones time to absorb the oil. This symbolizes the time needed to master new abilities and resources.

Another use: a few drops of fragrance oil can be added to a small ritual vessel with hot water. This gives a scent to the environment, for example during a ritual.
