The Tree of Life – an ancient symbol of connection
The Tree of Life is a universal symbol that appears across cultures throughout history. It speaks of the deep structure of life and the interconnectedness of all existence.
In Mesopotamia, the Tree of Life linked heaven, earth, and the underworld—it was the axis of life and immortality. In Egypt, it was tied to creation and rebirth, especially through the sacred Ished tree, upon which the gods inscribed the names of pharaohs. In Kabbalah, the Tree of Life (Etz Chaim) represents the soul’s journey toward higher understanding. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil bound together the nine worlds—life, fate, and divine wisdom flow through it.
The Tree of Life expresses humanity’s relationship with nature, with the self, and with the sacred. It reminds us that life is rooted, ever-growing, and constantly renewing.
