Trilobites ( Trilobita ) are extinct arthropods that somewhat resemble a Moluccan crab or a crab. They lived in the sea and were the most successful animals of their time. Trilobites flourished during the Cambrian period, which began about 542 million years ago. Since the trilobites were fully developed at that time, their stock forms must have already lived in the Ediacaran period 630–542 million years ago.
