Golden tiger’s eye is regarded as a protective stone and a symbol of strength. It is associated with grounding energy, courage and balance. Tiger’s eye is believed to help with focus and staying grounded in stressful situations. It is said to support rational thinking, making it an excellent companion for tests and important meetings.
Tiger’s eye is also considered the stone of Leo.
Tiger’s eye is a variety of quartz, recognised by its golden-brown colour and moving band of light. This optical effect is known as chatoyancy. It is caused by parallel fibrous structures within the stone, which reflect light from slightly different angles.
The mineral forms through a geological process in which quartz replaces the original crocidolite fibres while preserving their structure. This structure gives the stone its characteristic silky banding. Tiger’s eye is found especially in South Africa, Australia and India.
