Working with symbols
What is the unconscious seeking to bring into awareness?
According to Jungian psychology, symbols act as mediators between the conscious mind and the unconscious. Symbols appearing in dreams and mental images, for example, can convey information about aspects of the psyche that a person does not yet consciously recognise or understand.
Developed by psychoanalytic psychotherapist Minna Kirsi, the Symbol Work method offers tools for exploring these messages emerging from the unconscious and understanding how they relate to one’s own life. The method follows seven stages, from recognising a symbol to understanding what it conveys and putting that understanding into practice.
The method can be studied independently using the Symbol Work Workbook, or with guidance through individual and small-group courses. The courses offer an opportunity to explore the method’s psychological background in greater depth and discuss observations, experiences and questions arising during the work.
This collection includes the printed and digital editions of the Symbol Work Workbook, as well as individual and small-group courses.
