Connection to the sacred – symbols as a bridge to something greater than oneself
Working with symbols is not limited to the inner world of a person. At times, they open doors to something that does not belong solely to the self – but to something that extends beyond time and individuality. A symbol does not explain that experience, but it can bring it closer.
A card, a dream, a stone, a gesture, a word. A small event through which something seems to speak. Not me to myself, but someone or something to me – or perhaps through me. Then the symbol no longer feels like a product of one's own mind, but a message that has been waiting for the right moment.
This connection has been called by many names: Nature, Spirit, Creator, Goddess, Universe, guidance, primal forces, love. The names are not as important as the experience when something sacred comes close. When the world is no longer random, but permeated with purpose. When you feel you are not alone.
A symbol can call forth that presence. It does not define holiness, but opens a space where holiness can come. It makes everyday life an altar, a moment a gate, a person a listener. Such moments are not exceptions. They are close when you look closely, ask quietly, and agree to listen.
These are just examples. Symbolic work also occurs in art – painting, writing and music, where form carries multi-layered meaning. In meditation, visualizations and mantras build connections to the deepest layers of the soul.
When you start to approach symbols consciously, your thinking changes. Your vision becomes more precise. Reality begins to respond in its own, special way. Something deep down moves. Questions you didn't know you had receive answers you didn't expect – as feelings, recognition, memory, certainty.
Life may not change outwardly, but everything feels different. Every moment has more presence, meaning, direction, power. You can recognize that you belong to something larger, more timeless – with your whole being.
That connection is no coincidence. It feels like stepping into what has always belonged.
