Zoned combination of hawk’s eye and tiger’s eye
This slice displays two stages of the same mineral family. The blue areas are hawk’s eye, where crocidolite fibres have remained in their original form. The golden-brown areas are tiger’s eye, formed when these fibres oxidise into iron compounds. The slice clearly shows how blue hawk’s eye gradually transforms into brown tiger’s eye — a slow process that takes millions of years. The colour boundaries and transitions are a natural part of this formation.
The combined zoning increases the stone’s uniqueness and collectability, as multi-phase pieces are more sought-after than single-colour tiger’s eye specimens.
Symbolism
The blue section corresponds to hawk’s eye, associated with alertness and the ability to perceive the whole picture. Its cool tone represents distance and calm observation, a stage in which movement has not yet altered the structure.
The golden-brown section represents tiger’s eye, traditionally linked to decision-making, grounded action and steady progress. The brown tone results from a concrete mineral change, reflecting the moment when an inner direction becomes clear and visible.
Together, the two phases illustrate both potential and maturation. This makes the slice an intriguing symbolic object, revealing both the beginning of a process and its natural continuation.
Use
The slice serves as a tool for exploring gradual transformation and is well suited for symbolic work, as it displays both the original state and its development. It can be used as a calming focal point on a desk or in a ritual setting to clarify direction and the coexistence of different stages. Suitable for collectors and crystal arrangements. The piece illustrates the formation of tiger’s eye with exceptional clarity.
Please note: Crystals and minerals are natural products, so each one is unique. As a result, colors, shapes and clarity may vary. Light best brings out their natural beauty.
