Symbolic Meaning
Kyanite is considered a primary zodiac stone for Taurus.
Kyanite is often considered especially well suited to meditation. It is regarded as a calming stone and a powerful transmitter and amplifier of high-frequency energies, and is believed to stimulate psychic abilities and intuition. This crystal is also said to facilitate connection with spirit guides and awaken compassion. By grounding spiritual vibrations, it is thought to bring spiritual wholeness and maturity. It is also believed to support dream recall and encourage dreams regarded as healing. Kyanite is thought to support the individual through the transition between life and death.
Kyanite is also believed to align the chakras and subtle bodies, while clearing energetic channels and meridians. It is said to restore Qi to the physical body. Because kyanite is traditionally thought not to retain negative energy, it is often regarded as a stone that does not require cleansing.
Kyanite is said to encourage speaking one’s truth and to help release fears and inhibitions. Through its association with the throat chakra, it is believed to support self-expression and communication. Blue kyanite in particular is often considered especially helpful for performers and public speakers.
In a spiritual context, kyanite is also said to help release the idea of blind fate or unforgiving karma. It is thought to assist in understanding one’s own role in the causes of events, and in seeing what is required to bring balance to the past.
Please note: The meanings associated with stones may be deeply personal and depend on how each individual experiences their influence in life. The interpretation of symbolism is highly subjective, and each person’s relationship with a stone may be entirely unique.
About the stone
Blue fibrous kyanite is an aluminium-rich silicate mineral formed under high-pressure metamorphic conditions. Its elongated, fibrous crystals and direction-dependent hardness are among its most distinctive features. Quartz and feldspar are among the most common minerals in the Earth’s crust and form the basic constituents of many igneous and metamorphic rocks. Kyanite represents a natural high-pressure mineral association in which different geological stages can be read within the same stone.
Please note: Crystals and minerals are natural products, so each one is a unique piece in its own right. For this reason, colour, shape and clarity may vary. Their natural beauty is best revealed in good light.
