Symbol meaning

The Romans started the industrial production of glass more than 2000 years ago. Ancient Roman glass can be classified as alkali lime or soda glass. The main raw material for glass was quartz sand. Soda, which has a melting temperature of about 850 degrees, was used as a melting agent. The glass mass was colored with different ores. Bright and glowing colors were used to imitate precious jewelry and precious stones, such as amethyst, lapis lazuli and turquoise. The blue color was associated with heaven and the abodes of the gods. Green and turquoise were again seen as magical, the color of growth and rebirth. The beads made from pieces of glass bracelets are two thousand years old. Countless minerals in the soil have left a beautiful patina on the surface of the glass, in some places it sparkles like silver. Holes were later drilled into the glass pieces.
