Purpurite is a violet manganese–iron phosphate mineral. Its colour can range from reddish violet and deep purple to brownish black. The mineral commonly occurs in massive or granular form.
These rough stones show purple surfaces with dark and pale mineral areas. Two individual pieces are available. Choose the stone you prefer from the options and you will receive the exact piece shown in the photographs.
Within crystal traditions, purpurite is regarded as a stone of psychic protection. It is associated with clarity of thought, concentration and confident expression, and is therefore used symbolically when preparing for public speaking or important conversations.
Purpurite is believed to support the release of old habits and attitudes that bind a person to the past. It is associated with alertness, receptiveness to new ideas, renewal and moving forwards.
Within chakra symbolism, purpurite is said to link the higher crown chakras with the root chakra. When used in a space, it may represent the dispersal of negative influences, the strengthening of boundaries and the release of old ties.
Purpurite is naturally fragile, and a small amount of mineral material may come away from its surface. Handle the stone gently and do not drop, scrub or wash it. Store it in a dry place.
Avoid inhaling any loose dust. Wash your hands after handling if dust has come away from the stone. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Please note: The symbolic meanings associated with stones are based on crystal traditions. Meanings can be personal and should not be regarded as scientifically proven effects.
