A red poppy sits among curved stems, pale leaves and a decorative frame on the notebook's cover. The dark green background highlights the red of the flower, while gold-coloured lines outline the details of the illustration. The parchment-style paper is handmade from cotton fibres using a traditional vat-making process and treated for writing with ink.
Background to the Design
The cover illustration is in the Art Nouveau style, also known as Jugend in Finland. This style, which flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was characterised by forms drawn from nature, curved lines and plant motifs. In this illustration, these features can be seen in the stems curving around the poppy, the leaves and the decorative frame.

About the Manufacturer
French brand Epigr’AM designs its notebooks in France and has them made by partner workshops in northern India. The notebooks use handmade cotton paper. Its long-standing collaboration with local artisans supports the preservation of traditional craft skills. According to the manufacturer, the partnership maintains appropriate working hours and safe working conditions, promotes social security for workers and does not use child labour in production.
