Black moonstone - palm stone

• Material: Black moonstone belongs to the potassium feldspars and consists mainly of potassium aluminum silicate (KAlSi₃O₈) with fine-grained lamellae of sodium-rich albite (NaAlSi₃O₈). The alternation of these feldspar species in the structure creates the adularescence characteristic of moonstone.

Black Moonstone is a darker variety of the white Moonstone and belongs to the feldspar mineral group. It consists of potassium feldspar containing fine lamellae of sodium-rich albite. Its colour ranges from greyish-brown to deep black, and the surface is enlivened by a subtle silver or bronze sheen. The stone is often slightly translucent at the edges, and its optical effect becomes more pronounced in light, making it a visually striking gemstone.
