Symbolic Meaning
The mermaid is an ancient mythological figure known from classical stories and medieval bestiaries. Unlike the later fairytale-like and innocent interpretation, earlier mermaid symbolism is more ambiguous. It combines seduction, danger, and the crossing of boundaries. The mermaid lives between two worlds: in the depths of the sea and at the threshold of the human realm. Symbolically, it represents the unconscious, instinctive wisdom, and a powerful attraction that can draw one deep but may also lead astray if approached without awareness.
Golden tiger’s eye is considered a protective stone and a symbol of strength. It is believed to bring grounding energy, courage, and balance. Tiger’s eye is thought to help with concentration and staying grounded in stressful situations. It supports acting from reason and is regarded as an excellent companion for exams and important meetings.
About the Stone
Tiger’s eye is a variety of quartz recognized by its golden-brown color and its moving band of light. This optical effect is known as chatoyancy. It forms due to parallel fibrous structures within the stone that reflect light from slightly different angles.
The mineral forms through a geological process in which quartz gradually replaces the original crocidolite fibers while preserving their structure. This structure gives the stone its characteristic silky banding. Tiger’s eye is found especially in South Africa, Australia, and India.
