This black ceramic incense burner is designed for use with incense charcoal and resins, herbs or aromatic woods placed on top. The pedestal raises the bowl above the tabletop, but the burner must still be placed on a non-flammable, heat-resistant surface during use. The ring handle makes the burner easier to handle once it has cooled completely.
Incense charcoal and incense are sold separately. Buy incense charcoal here.
Place the burner on a flat, non-flammable, heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated room. Add a layer of dry sand to the bowl to help distribute the heat from the charcoal. Place the incense charcoal on the sand and light it with a lighter or matches. Once the surface of the charcoal has turned grey, add a small amount of incense resin.
The burner and its handle can become very hot. Do not move the burner while in use, and never leave glowing charcoal unattended. Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials. Allow the charcoal, ash and burner to cool completely before cleaning or disposing of the ash. Do not cool the hot burner with water.
