Amulet - Je Tsongkhapa

Bronze alloy, Tibet, 20th century, size approx 49mm x 36mm x 4mm.

Lama Tsongkhapa's image is said to bring the wearer good luck, positive energy, protection and harmony. It is also believed that Je Tsongkhapa repels negative and destructive emotions such as depression, envy, fear and anger.

Je Tsongkhapa Lobzang Drakba (also called Je Rinpoche, 1357-1419) was a famous master, philosopher, tantric yogi and reformer of Tibetan Buddhism who founded an independent Gelug school, the Yellow Sect, in the early 15th century. Je Tsongkhapa first studied the sakya lineage, then the kagyu lineage, wandered around Tibet for most of his life, and eventually ended up founding the geluk lineage and the Ganden monastery shortly before his death in Lhasa. Je Tsongkhapa, with his two disciples, the third Dalai Lama and the first Panchen Lama, achieved the greatest number of followers and leadership.

Note! Amulets cast from bronze are handmade and have been used diligently, j so each of them is its own unique individual. They may be dusty, dirty, heavily patinated and may have small surface defects.
