A very beautiful , deep grey-green small actinolite boulder. Actinolite is a raystone and a mineral of the amphibole group. Actinolite and tremolite are similar based on their chemical structure. Tremolite and ferroactinolite form an isomorphic mixture series. The name of the mineral comes from the Greek words "aktina" (ακτίνα) meaning "fiber" and "lithos" (λίθος) meaning stone. The crystal system of actinolite is monoclinic, fibrous or slatted in appearance. Actinolite is light to dark green in color. The stripe is white or slightly green. The hardness is 5.5–6 on the Mohs scale. When heated with a Bunsen lamp, the mineral colors the flame green, and it also melts in a gas flame. Actinolite also does not dissolve in acids. Actinolite is commonly found in calcium- and magnesium-rich metamorphic rocks and deep rocks.
