Symbolic Meaning
Scolecite is regarded as a gentle, high-vibration stone, believed to promote inner peace. It is often considered especially suitable for those who are just beginning to explore high-vibration crystals, or for people with a sensitive energetic field.
Scolecite is associated with the idea of inner light, believed to bring peace to the core of one’s being and to connect with higher energies and multidimensional realities. It is also regarded as a good dream stone, thought to support lucid dreaming and dream recall. Meditating with the stone is believed to help access the deeper meaning of significant dreams and strengthen one’s connection to higher guidance.
Scolecite is thought to support the balance and integrity of the aura, while also strengthening its structure. It is also believed to reduce energetic fragmentation and protect the energy field from external disturbances.
Scolecite is said to help reorganise thought patterns and encourage a more positive experience of everyday life. It is also believed to release the remnants of harmful mental structures and beliefs, while easing anxiety and fear. At the same time, it is thought to strengthen a quiet sense of trust, from which life can be met with greater balance.
Scolecite may be placed in a room to create an area of peace. It is believed to calm disturbed energy and create a safe, sacred space for living, working and simply being. The stone is also thought to balance relationships between lovers and loved ones, and to support those whose hearts have hardened in releasing past trauma and opening themselves to love once more.
Description
Scolecite forms when mineral-rich water gradually crystallises material inside cavities in volcanic rock over long periods of time. Its surface often has a soft, silky sheen, and polished tumble stones frequently reveal the stone’s inner fibrous structure.
Scolecite is also pyroelectric: it responds to changes in temperature by forming a weak electrical charge. Some of the world’s best-known and finest scolecite deposits are found in India, especially in the Nashik and Pune regions, within basaltic lava formations.
