About the Stone
Aventurine is a variety of quartz. Its color ranges from green to blue and reddish tones depending on its inclusions, most commonly fuchsite or hematite. The characteristic shimmer, known as aventurescence, is caused by light reflecting from these mineral inclusions.
With a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, aventurine is durable and takes a good polish, which makes it suitable for jewelry and decorative objects.
