The Tree of Life – an ancient symbol of connection

The Tree of Life is a universal symbol that appears in many cultures throughout history. It represents the deep structure of life and the connection between all things.

In Mesopotamia, the Tree of Life connected heaven, earth, and the underworld – serving as the axis of life and immortality. In ancient Egypt, it was associated with creation and rebirth, especially the sacred Ished Tree, on which the gods recorded the names of the pharaohs. In Kabbalah, the Tree of Life (Etz Chaim) represents the soul’s journey toward higher understanding. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil binds together the nine worlds – through it flow life, destiny, and the wisdom of the gods.

The Tree of Life reflects humanity’s relationship with nature, with itself, and with the sacred. It reminds us that life is rooted, growing, and constantly renewing.

Rug care and maintenance

The Flower of Life pattern is hand-cut into the rug. Because of this, the rug may shed more fibers than usual at first. We therefore recommend vacuuming the rug regularly.

If stains occur, we recommend cleaning them by hand using mild soap or shampoo. When vacuuming new wool rugs, always use the smoothest floor nozzle possible. A brush attachment should only be used if the rug is very dirty, as the delicate natural fibers may otherwise become too rough and start to pill.
