Symbolism 

In Voglio Bene’s artwork, the classical myth of Psyche and Amor receives a bold reinterpretation, giving the traditional union of love and soul darker and more conflicted tones. The original work, L’Amour et Psyché, depicts the moment when the soul awakens through the touch of love. Psyche rests in Amor’s arms as a symbol of the soul finding connection with divine love. Amor represents a force that transcends reason and will, guiding toward inner unity. The bed curtains frame this intimate encounter, placing the figures in a timeless space, while the soft play of light hints at transformation—from the sensual toward the spiritual, from the individual toward the universal.

In Voglio Bene’s version, the scene takes on new meaning. Amor’s wings are colored black, turning him into a symbol of temptation and danger—a kind of fallen angel. Psyche embodies good, Amor evil, and their love is forbidden and impossible. This emphasizes the tension between the visible and invisible, good and evil, permitted and forbidden.
