Heliotrope, or bloodstone, is a cryptocrystalline variety of quartz that appears most often as jasper or translucent chalcedony. The classic bloodstone is green chalcedony with red jasper and hematite inclusions that resemble drops of blood.

Symbolic Meaning

In ancient times, bloodstone was regarded as an excellent purifier of the blood and a powerful healing stone. It was believed to influence the weather, ward off evil, and guide spiritual energies.
