Tourmaline is a multi-colored mineral that occurs naturally in almost every shade from bright green to deep black. It belongs to the group of borosilicates and is valued both as a gemstone and as a collector's mineral due to its strong luster and glassy surface. Tourmaline is a hard and durable stone with a Mohs hardness of 7–7.5.
Worry stones
Worry stones are smooth, polished stones used to calm the mind and ease tension. They are typically oval with a thumb-sized indentation, though other shapes also exist. Originally, worry stones were naturally shaped by water and time, but today they are often made from semi-precious gemstones such as amethyst.
The history of worry stones stretches far and wide: they were used in ancient Tibet, Greece, Ireland, and among the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. In ancient Greece, sea-smoothed stones served as soothing amulets, while in North America, worry stones were passed down through generations as a spiritual link to one’s ancestors.
Symbolism
Tourmaline is considered a shamanic stone, believed to offer protection during rituals and spiritual practices. Traditionally, it has been thought to help uncover the causes of difficulties and guide its user toward the right path. On a psychological level, tourmaline is said to deepen self-understanding and empathy toward others. It is believed to strengthen self-confidence, ease fears, and release feelings of victimhood. The stone is also associated with attracting inspiration, compassion, tolerance, and a sense of abundance.
Use
Hold the worry stone in your hand and gently rub it with your thumb. The repetitive motion stimulates nerve endings and soothes the mind – a natural, simple way to ease stress.
Please note: Each stone is a unique piece of nature. Colors, shapes and sizes vary naturally and may differ from the product image.
