Bowenite is a magnesium-rich serpentine mineral, particularly known for its yellow-green hue. It is a relatively soft stone with a greasy to glassy lustre. Bowenite is the traditional “greenstone” (pounamu) used by the Māori of New Zealand, often crafted into jewellery, carvings, and sculptures.

Symbolism

Bowenite, also called “New Jade”, is said to help release blocked or suppressed emotions and to find solutions through dreams. The stone can be placed under a pillow to encourage insightful dreams whenever you feel stuck or face a difficult problem. Before falling asleep, you may silently affirm that a solution will come to mind upon waking.

Bowenite is also used to deepen meditation and to support listening to inner guidance. It is considered a powerful heart-centred healer, believed to activate kundalini energy.
