In a beautiful clear quartz crystal, black and dark brown, metallic luster, fan-like rutile crystals. Rutile is a mineral belonging to the oxides, which, like anatase and brookite belonging to the same group, is composed of titanium oxide. It is enclosed in other minerals. These inclusions have a needle-like structure. The color of rutile is yellow, red, reddish brown, dark brown or black. The mineral has a metallic, semi-metallic or diamond luster and can be transparent, translucent or opaque. Quartz that contains long, hair-fine and thin rutile crystals is called rutile quartz, or Venus hairstone. It has been used as a gemstone since ancient times. It was especially valued in England and France in the 18th century.
